MONGOLIAN WATER POLO ATHLETES TO MAKE NEW HISTORY IN AQUATIC SPORTS

The Water Polo team of the Mongolian Amateur Swimming Federation is currently preparing to compete on the international stage.

The Water Polo 4×4 Championships 2026, a World Championship event, will be held from August 31 to September 6, 2026, in Dubrovnik, Republic of Croatia. The event is particularly significant as it is the first-ever World Championship to be held in the “Water Polo 4×4” format, with four players competing against four. This historic event is expected to bring a new dimension and fresh momentum to the development of water polo worldwide.

The Mongolian 4×4 Water Polo team is coached by Sh. Sodgerel, while M. Delgerkhuu, who represented Mongolia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, serves as the team captain.

The team roster includes Master of Sports (MS) athletes G. Sugar, B. Bat-Orgil, Ch. Ulziituguldur, G. Dulguunoo, Kh. Ochir, and O. Sugar.

This championship marks one of the highest-level and most significant international competitions in which Mongolian water polo athletes have ever participated.

Water polo is still a relatively new sport in Mongolia. Although the number of athletes currently practicing the sport remains small, the passion and determination of these young athletes to explore new opportunities and challenges in aquatic sports will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and development of water polo in Mongolia.

The journey they are beginning today has the potential to become a dream and inspiration for many more children and young people tomorrow.
